Disturbed
Indestructible

Here at ROCKLINE our New Year’s resolution is to be as honest as possible, short of crushing someone with raw, uncensored and brutal truths. A strategically placed little white lie can be a good thing, unless you feel the need to muck up the waters a bit and watch heads and eyes start to roll. A jaunt over to the dark side sometimes takes on a life of its own. Let’s face it; we’re all disturbed in one way or another. It’s really just a matter of degree and frequency. That’s why Disturbed is one of the best band names ever conceived. It’s a universal verity. None of us can say with 100% certainty that we’re immune to a few neuroses, that there aren’t some creepy cobwebs in the cranium or frightening attitudes in the attic. At one point or another, darkness descends and becomes the norm for a rare few. Fortunately, most of us shed the negative thoughts and trudge through life keeping the demons at bay. We’ve never asked the Chicago based band what band names were rejected, or if they knew immediately that they had hit on a near perfect name for a band and specifically a great name for their band. Was there a bolt of lightening moment? Did they know they were down with the sickness right then and there?

Disturbed have been welcome and frequent guests on ROCKLINE. We enjoy having them on, they enjoy speaking with you and we are beyond positive that you enjoy speaking with them. The speaking with them portion of the program did not happen the last time we were joined by vocalist extraordinaire David Draiman. We had an opportunity to present the national radio premiere of “Indestructible”, but that meant that we would do so with a rare taping of the show featuring David and ROCKLINE host Bob Coburn going one on one. The reason for this is because the band was actually in Europe the night before the CD hit the streets and couldn’t appear live on the show. The taping took place on May 27 and the show was broadcast on June 2. Given the choice of a one on one offering you the premiere, or no show with them at all, the decision was a real no-brainer. But we thrive on being a live show. During that broadcast DD expressed genuine interest in coming back again for a live show, allowing you to join us on the air and ask the questions you want to be answered. David is many things, one of which is that he is a man of his word. So the time has come as Disturbed prepares to hit the road again on January 16 continuing to the end of February. Full information is at their MySpace and on their Internet site Disturbed1.com And what a perfect web address that is…my Disturbed One.
