In preparation for their now famous Music as a Weapon Tour, metal rock band Disturbed, made up of David Draiman (vocals), Dan Donegan (guitar), Mike Wengren (drums) and John Moyer (bass), will appear in El Paso County Coliseum with Skindred and Sevendust.

"It's a homecoming for me," said Moyer, who graduated from Coronado High School in El Paso.

"We will be playing with Skindred and Sevendust. We will have songs of all four records and play tons of our new record — it's a pretty long set," he said.

Since its debut album, "The Sickness," in 2000, Disturbed has been unstoppable. The band's fourth CD, "Indestructible," soon reached No. 2 on Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts.

"When we made the first album, we had a good handle of the music — nothing has changed, even with this album," Moyer said. "This ("Indestructible") is a strong record for us."

Even though the album was inspired by the troubled times America faces, it still proves to be uplifting

""Indestructible' is specifically about being a soldier and fulfilling a mission — to give ourselves power and courage," Moyer explained. "War is a reality. We wrote the song to give them (soldiers) power and to come home in one piece."

The rock vets have learned important lessons throughout their successful career that turned their records into smashing hits.

"Trends come and go," explained Moyer. "We don't follow trends. The band is better in quality. We have had success and part of the secret is writing fresh material — we have a sound that people identify with."
